RULES SPECIFIC TO MINI-STOCK SERIES

All vehicles must comply with General Rules, except where exempted in this section.

 A. ELIGIBLE MODELS

      1.     Rear wheel drive cars MUST be stock, only, 2 or 4 doors permitted. Four-cylinder engines only.

      2.     Front wheel drive cars must be 4 cylinder engine vehicles.

      3.     Track reserves the right to disallow any body style or to allow any other configuration.

B. ENGINE

Chevettes:

      1.     Engine must be stock Chevette engine. Internal modifications will be permitted.

      2.     Any grind of cam will be allowed and engines may be balanced.

      3.     Carburetor must be Stock Chevette carburetor. Internal modifications will be permitted.

      4.     No aluminum heads will be allowed.

      5.     Headers are allowed.

Others:

      1.     Engine must be stock for make and model of car. Valve covers must remain stock. No rotary or turbo-charged engines will be allowed.

C. DRIVE TRAIN

Chevettes:

      1.     OEM clutch system only, no direct drives or couplers will be allowed.

      2.     Maximum allowable rear-end ratio will be 4.11:1

Others:

      1.     Automatic or manual transmission will be allowed. Must be stock for make and model of car.

D. WEIGHT

      1.     Chevettes must weigh a minimum of 1,800 pounds.

      2.     Others must weigh the following minimums according to displacement:

               a: 2.0 liter engine (2,000 cc) – 2,100 pounds.

               b: 2,2 liter engine (2,200 cc) – 2,300 pounds.

               c: 2.5 liter engine (2,500 cc) – 2,500 pounds.

      3.     Weight may be placed anywhere at the preference of the competitor so long as it is securely and safely fastened where it cannot move while the vehicle is on the track. Installations are subject to the approval of officials.

E. CHASSIS, BODY, INTERIOR

Chevettes:

      1.     Front wheel wells may be removed. Rear wheels wells must remain. Front and rear firewalls must be in original positions. Full floorboard is required. Driver's compartment must be sealed from fuel tanks. Doors must be welded shut.

      2.     Shocks must be in stock position. All suspension parts must be stock.

      3.     Fuels cells will be permitted or fuel tanks. Either must be secured with steel straps and separated from driver’s compartment.

      4.     6 point roll cage with bars a minimum of 1 1/2" in diameter is required. Minimum of 3 bars in driver’s door with 1/8" thick steel plate the height and length of the driver's door, and at least one bar in passenger door, 1" steel tubing allowed.

      5.     Maximum spoiler height will be four inches (4"). No sideboards or wraparounds will be permitted.

      6.     Substitute nosepieces will be allowed, but may extend no more than six inches (6") in excess of stock Chevette nosepiece as measured from center of front wheels. Track reserves the right to disallow any nosepiece.

      7.     Measurement from bottom of stock rocker panel location on driver's side to bottom of stock rocker panel location on passenger side, over the top, may be no less than 11 feet (132 inches). No side panel or ground effects panels may be added to panels for measurement purposes. Measurement will be from STOCK location.

      8.     All glass must be removed.

      9.     Weight jacks will be permitted.

Others:

      1.     All doors must be bolted or welded shut.

      2.     All interior material must be removed, including headliners, door panels, carpet, and fabric. No flammable materials permitted in interior.

      3.     Aluminum racing seat and five-point harness required.

      4.     Approved window net required on driver's side.

      5.     A hole may be cut in the hood and trunk, no more than 12 inches in diameter, for use by track crew in the event of fire.

      6.     Battery may be moved into cab area, provided it is completely covered and securely fastened. Marine battery box recommended.

      7.     Minimum four-point roll-over bar with crossbar behind seat and two braces forward required, with minimum 1 1/2-inch bars.  Full roll cage recommended.

      8.     Racing fuel cell is recommended when possible and reinforcement of trunk area is recommended. Firewall required separating  fuel cell from driver area.

      9.     Fuel cell must be mounted in trunk area for safety purposes.

    10.     All springs and shocks must be in stock position. Shock towers may be slotted to allow camber adjustment.

    11.     Stock bumpers may be reinforced, but installation must be approved by track.

F. TIRES & WHEELS

      1.     Seven inch wide racing wheels will be permitted.

      2.     Street legal radial tires. No exotic or made for racing tires will be allowed except for Hoosier 790 as noted in Rule 2. Tire legality issues will be ruled upon at track's discretion.

      3.     Hoosier 790 series tires will be permitted in 13, 14, and 15 inch sizes. Any car running Hoosier 790 tires must add 100 pounds. Racing tires must be purchased from official track supplier.
