CORBIN SPEEDWAY CANCELS DIRT LATE MODEL PROGRAM FOR MAY 5;

SPECIAL $1,500-TO-WIN LATE MODEL RACE SCHEDULED FOR SAME DATE

Corbin Speedway announced this week that the program featuring late models of the United Super

Dirt Car Series scheduled for Saturday, May 5 has been cancelled to circumstances beyond the

control of the track management.

A special Lucas Oil Late Model Challenge for the track’s own Lucas Oil Corbin Late Model Series

will be held on that date, featuring a purse paying $1,500 to the winner.

"The arrangement with USDCS has not evolved to our satisfaction or our benefit as quickly as we

had hoped it would,” explained Keith Page, general manager of the quarter-mile paved oval. “As a

result, we are canceling that program, and we hope to schedule a similar one on a date yet to be

determined.”

He added, "We really regret having to do this, knowing that a lot of our competitors and fans have
looked forward to this big event. It’s our policy to be honest and up front with our spectators and
competitors, and we felt it best to announce this as soon as we found out it wasn’t going to work.

“However,” Page continued, “we promised that our Lucas Oil Corbin Late Models would be able to
take part in a big race on this date, and we're going to keep that promise. It will simply be known as
the Lucas Oil Late Model Challenge, and the feature will pay $1,500 to the winner. Our late model
rules will apply. "We’re really pleased with what buzz it's got in our own backyard, and we are looking
forward to some new competitors coming to Corbin for the first time. There has already been a really
good response to this from other areas, and we can't wait."

"We will present a higher purse in our other divisions on this date, as we originally planned, if the
fields are large enough,” he noted, “if the racers are supporting us, we’ll do this to show our support to
them.”

The Bubby’s BBQ Sportsman Series feature will pay $450 to the winner if a minimum of ten cars are
entered, while both the Grease Monkey Auto Care Pure Street feature winner and Burning Rubber
Radio Mini-Stock main event winner will receive $400 if there are ten cars in their division.

If the Extreme Engine Systems Mini-Cups start six cars in their feature, the payoff will be $300 to
the winner.

With a minimum field of eight starters in the Robinson’s Premier Meats Baby Grand Series, the
winner will receive $500.

Officials expect entries from Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina as well as all over Kentucky
with six divisions of racing in a program fans won’t want to miss.

"Bear with us, and we'll continue to give you our best effort, and to bring you the best racing
program we can,” Page concluded. “We don't think anyone can find any fault with the type of
competition we've had at Corbin Speedway this season, and we're sure that it will continue."

A special schedule is in effect for this particular program.

Gates at Corbin Speedway will open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, with qualifying to begin at

2:00 p.m., and heat races for the Lucas Oil Late Model Challenge to take the track at 5:00 p.m.
